In line with the Commissioner’s function to prevent or minimise corruption, misconduct and maladministration, the ICAC undertakes research about public administration and the way it is governed.
The Commissioner will publish that research if she thinks it serves her prevention function and is in the public interest.
University Integrity Survey 2023
The Commission invited staff from the University of Adelaide, University of South Australia and Flinders University to participate in an anonymous online survey about public integrity in universities.
South Australia’s three public universities hold an important place in public administration. They promote higher knowledge and learning through teaching, research and scholarship. It is crucial that these activities are undertaken with integrity and are free from corruption.
The survey asked about views and experiences about corruption risks and other impropriety in the universities. The findings will be published on the Commission’s website early 2024.
The survey closed on 22 November 2023.
Complaints and reports about suspected corruption should be made to the Office for Public Integrity.
Public Integrity Survey 2021
In April 2021, The Hon. Ann Vanstone KC, Commissioner, conducted a survey which sought to better understand state and local government employee’s attitudes and perceptions towards corruption and inappropriate conduct.
The survey received over 7,000 responses from public officers across South Australia.
Commissioner Vanstone published two reports on the findings of her Public Integrity Survey 2021. The reports highlight a range of issues, all of which should act as a catalyst for public authorities to review their operations.
