An exciting opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a Communications Officer at the Commission. Working within the Prevention and Communications Section, the Communications Officer coordinates the provision of a range of external and internal communications and assists in developing strategies to promote and enhance the Commission’s brand, reputation and message.

Cornerstones of the role include managing the Commission’s website, the publishing of reports and other collateral and the coordination of mainstream and social media.

To be successful in the role you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing or communications or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Experience providing communications services including developing and producing a range of communication materials.
  • Demonstrated high-level written communication skills, including the ability to adapt communications for an audience.
  • Demonstrated ability in using graphic design and publishing software including Adobe Creative.
  • Experience in maintaining and updating a public website, including basic HTML coding.
  • Demonstrated visual creative flair and graphic design skills.
  • Experience in social media management.
  • Experience in contributing to and/or coordinating projects.

Special conditions

Applicants will be required to undergo psychometric profiling.

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at Negative Vetting Level 1.
