The Independent Commission Against Corruption (the Commission) is established by the Independent Commission Against Corruption Act 2012 (the ICAC Act) with the primary functions to identify and investigate corruption in public administration, and prevent or minimise corruption in public administration.

The rare opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a new Director Legal Services to the Commission. Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner, you will be responsible for providing high quality expert legal advice to support the statutory functions of the Commission, including on operational matters, evaluations, reviews and reports under the ICAC Act.

Leading a team of legal officers, you will ensure all Legal Services’ advice and activities are undertaken in compliance with relevant legislation, directions, guidelines and policies, and assist the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner in the formulation and achievement of strategic objectives.

You will have been admitted, or be eligible for admission, as a practitioner of the Supreme Court of South Australia and the High Court of Australia, and possess significant expertise in the provision of legal advice regarding the discharge of statutory powers in a law enforcement environment.

Integrity, resilience and collaboration will be paramount to ensure your success in the role, as will your ability to lead, manage and motivate your team to fulfil the statutory obligations of the Commission, and your ability to think laterally, plan strategically and use sound judgement in the provision of quality advice and recommendations.
